2021 saw our amazing Community Champions advocating vaccine take-up and shaping national policy and strategy by sharing the concerns and barriers faced by their communities with central government.
In addition, many of them engaged (or nominated organisations to participate) in our COVID recovery capacity-building programme A Better Chance, helping organisations become more sustainable at a challenging time and transforming their digital skills and web presence, raising their profile and increasing access to their services. Organisations were trained and coached in a range of skills including writing funding bids, working with volunteers, evaluation, social media and websites, increasing their capacity to share health messaging and support the needs of people over the pandemic.
We are delighted to see the fruits of this programme in new websites, social media activity, organisational strategy and funding for our members and look forward to hearing more positive outcomes in the months to come.
