Windrush 70 awards

Nominations for our Faith & Health Award have now closed, but you still have a week to apply for NHS England’s own awards to celebrate 70 years of the NHS.

Over the last 70 years the NHS has relied on talent and workforce from around the world to make it work. The Windrush 70 awards will celebrate the contributions of black and minority ethnic (BME) contributions to the NHS, from the Windrush generation of 1948, the south Asian arrivals in the 1960s and 70s, to today’s 202 nationalities represented in the workforce. It is a thank you to those who have gone before us, and will remember the pioneers that trod this path, recognise the present and a look to the future.

The various categories will recognise a range of achievements and breakthroughs as well as the unsung heroes who, under normal circumstances, would perhaps be overlooked. There are 11 categories in which you can nominate someone who you think should be recognised, including people working in VCSE organisations – this is not for NHS staff alone.

Nominations close on Friday 13 April.
