Free prescriptions – help people check they are entitled

Check Before You Tick is a new NHS campaign that aims to help people understand if they are eligible for free prescriptions and, if they are, how to claim correctly to avoid penalty charges.

For people that aren’t eligible for free prescriptions, the campaign will raise awareness of other support available, such as prepayment prescription certificates, and the NHS Low Income Scheme.

To help you communicate these important messages to those you work with, a toolkit is available that includes background information on the campaign, as well content and materials that you can use in different situations.

Leaflets that offer people detailed guidance on prescription eligibility are available to order. A briefing to offer specific support to those who give advice on finance and benefits will follow shortly.
