Befriending projects for isolated older people
Interested in working with isolated older people, but not sure how to get started? Linking Lives UK, a national Christian charity working with churches to address loneliness and social isolation, are looking for partners to help expand their work to new communities across the UK.
Linking Lives UK currently run 29 befriending projects around the country, through which volunteers are able to visit older people in their own homes to provide company for an hour or so a week. This week, they launched a new promotional film which explores these projects and how they work, and the great effect they have reducing isolation and loneliness.
