Case studies wanted: helping people find work
As part of our work with the Health and Wellbeing Alliance, FaithAction has been involved in a project focused on creating more inclusive workplaces. The project has been developing resources to help organisations support people who face challenges accessing the workplace to find and remain in employment.
We are still looking for good practice approaches to supporting disabled people, people with long term health conditions, people from ‘protected characteristic’ groups (which includes people of faith) and those with experience of homelessness, poor mental health, criminal justice system or substance misuse towards, into and to stay in work.
The case studies will be added to an Employer Directory of employment support programmes, which will provide examples of national and local employment support initiatives and ‘success stories’ about helping people towards and into work. We hope it will give organisations ideas of best practice around how they could make their workplace inclusive.
A toolkit is also being developed, which will encourage employers to take a different approach to understanding and responding to the emotional and psychological needs of their existing and potential employees. It will support organisations to introduce a psychologically informed and strengths based approach and give guidance on ways that the approach can be implemented.
