Volunteers wanted: Link Age Southwark
Link Age Southwark has been building friendships between older people and volunteers within the local community for over 25 years, to reduce the effects of social isolation and loneliness. They offer befriending and a variety of groups including exercise, bridge, reading, singing, yoga, lunch, reminiscence and more. They also support adults living with mild to moderate dementia, as well as providing volunteer transport, handyperson jobs and gardening where available.
To make all this happen, they rely on the help and support from volunteers. It is just one hour a week that is usually required with full training, reimbursed expenses and free DBS checks provided.
