WHO report on the role of the arts in improving health and wellbeing

The World Health Organisation (WHO) recently published a comprehensive scoping review on the role of the arts in improving health and wellbeing.

A review of over 900 academic publications from 2000-2019 shows strong evidence of the arts facilitating both the prevention and promotion, and the management and treatment, of mental and physical health.

Accordingly, the review recommends the cultural and the health and social care sector act on this evidence and encourage collaborative approaches to this.
