Peer Leadership Development Programme
The Personalised Care Group at NHS England and Improvement is launching the Peer Leadership Development Programme as part of their commitment to develop 500 Peer Leaders by 2024.
This exciting and innovative online personal development programme is for people with lived experience who are committed to working collaboratively with the system to shape and influence how health and care is delivered. The programme is designed to equip them with the knowledge, skills and confidence to do this, by becoming a Peer Leader.
It is a four-step programme delivered in partnership with Future Learn, an accessible learning platform. It covers topics like:
- What is personalised care and what is the benefit for people in England?
- How does the NHS buy things?
- How do you make change happen in a big organisation like the NHS?
- What does ‘good’ personalised care look like and how does it work in practice?
Learners can also advance to the later steps where they will learn about becoming a Peer Leader Facilitator.
Join them to find out more about the programme, meet current peer leaders and people with lived experience, and ask questions at their launch event on Tuesday 3 Nov, 11-11:45am.
