Call for Evidence: Inquiry into racial inequality in health and social care
Last month the Equality and Human Rights Commission launched a statutory inquiry into racial inequality in health and social care, triggered by the pandemic. This week a call for evidence was issued by the inquiry.
The inquiry will consider how ethnic minority health and social care workers’ treatment during the pandemic has been influenced by their:
- race
- employment status
- immigration status
- working conditions
EHRC are calling on people to complete a confidential survey to share their experiences. They want to hear from the following groups:
- Ethnic minority workers in lower paid roles in health and social care
- Co-workers of ethnic minority workers
- Health and social care employers
- Organisations who support workers, e.g. Trade Unions
They want to hear from as many people who may have relevant information as possible.
The deadline for submissions is Sunday 7th February.
