Survey on COVID-19, churches and communities

A new survey has been published from a research project led by the University of York in partnership with the Church of England, Historic England, the Association of English Cathedrals, the National Churches Trust and the Historic Religious Buildings Alliance.

The short survey should only take five minutes to complete but will make an important contribution to planning for the future. It concentrates on:

  1. Obtaining a snapshot of the levels of church and community needs and challenges at this point in the pandemic;
  2. Identifying the ways in church buildings and activities have continued to support communities;
  3. Churches’ plans for the remainder of the crisis period and for recovery;
  4. The resources and support which will be needed (especially from government) if churches are to mobilise their unique assets and maximise their contribution to rebuilding lives and communities.

The survey closes on 21st February 2021.
