NICE Shared Learning Collection: Community based approaches to addressing high blood pressure with black African and Caribbean men
As part of the VCSE Health and Wellbeing Alliance, FaithAction worked on a project which aimed to pilot a community approach to address health inequalities in high blood pressure for black African and African Caribbean men. The project, led by Race Equality Foundation, developed a community-based blood pressure programme to raise awareness of high blood pressure and undertook pilot blood pressure testing in community settings such as barbers. The project was also delivered in partnership with Men’s Health Forum and Clinks.
This work has recently been quality assured and published in NICE’s Shared Learning Collection and alongside the NICE quality standard as a supporting resource. The published example can be accessed here.
