Consultation: Medicines and Health products Regulatory Agency
The Medicines and Health products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) has launched an online consultation survey on the future of medical device regulation, which explores how MHRA can create a regulatory system that has patients at its heart.
The consultation covers a wide range of regulatory issues, from whether we broaden the range of products regulated as medical devices, to how devices are assessed before being placed on the market, through to transparency and the role of patients. The MHRA encourages the public to share their thoughts via the consultation survey and would particularly like to hear from those who have had experience of using medical devices.
We all come across medical devices in our everyday lives – they include a wide range of products, from hearing aids and walking sticks, to insulin pumps, pacemakers, plasters and thermometers – to name just a few.
This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to ensure the safety and quality of medical devices that many of us rely on, and from which we all benefit. MHRA welcomes the views of anyone who has experience they can draw on or has ideas on how to improve patient safety in the future.
Share your thoughts and complete their online consultation survey, which closes at 11:45 on 25 November 2021.
