The Maternity Consortium: Sharing learning from the Starting Well Fund

The Maternity Consortium, fellow members of the VCSE Health & Wellbeing Alliance, recently hosted a webinar sharing learning from the Starting Well Fund. The Starting Well Fund, run by the Department of Health and Social Care and NHS England and Improvement, aims to improve health outcomes for children from pre-conception to two and a half years old in Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic groups, and those living in areas of high deprivation.  The webinar included presentation on

• Perinatal and birth support for migrant and vulnerable women – Happy Baby Community
• Antenatal and postnatal sessions, peer support, link work and counselling for migrant and marginalised families – NCT
• Increasing breastfeeding rates and bringing communities together – Leicester Mammas
