Creative English for Health Breaking Through

Following the recent success of the Creative English for Health programmes which were delivered in Birmingham and Greater Manchester, the team have recently begun training volunteers in three Birmingham hubs, who are taking part in a limited pilot programme which focuses on Infant Health.
The team have previously engaged with over 1500 learners in 20 community hubs when they delivered programmes around respiratory health, cardiovascular health, and vaccinations. These programmes saw a significant rise in the participants’ understanding around these key health areas.
One learner made the progression from a participant, to becoming a volunteer, to becoming a facilitator, to becoming an employee.
Another participant in the vaccination programme had protested that she had no intention of getting a vaccination. After taking part in a role play, where she persuaded another person of the health benefits of being vaccinated, she admitted that she had persuaded herself in the process, and consequently would get vaccinated.
